The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Monday, June 24, 2024, with his loving family by his side, of Heber Ellis Smallman, of Alma, PEI, age 95 years. Born at Knutsford, PEI, on June 12, 1929, he was the son of the late Frank and Beatrice (nee Ellis) Smallman.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Carrie Alice (nee Burns) Smallman, in 1999, and by his second wife, Dorothy (nee Matthews Currie) Smallman, in 2008.

Loving father to Beth (Barry) Green, of Central Bedeque, Norma (Gary) Oliver, of Alberton, Verna (Bill) Fitzpatrick, of Tracadie, Heber, deceased 1955, Judy (late Frank) Fitzpatrick, of Suffolk, and Kent (Lloydia) Smallman, of Centre Line Road, Alma. Cherished grandfather to Craig Oliver, Julie Bernard, David Oliver, Robert Green, Barbara Aucoin, Jennifer Green-Bradshaw, Stephanie Green, Shannon Fitzpatrick, Angela Gallant, Jeffrey Fitzpatrick, Bethany Fitzpatrick, Kenton Smallman, Jason Smallman, Logan Smallman, and Clay Smallman. He is also survived by his 23 great-grandchildren, his three great-great-grandchildren, and by his fur buddy, Scrappy. Dear brother to Orell Smallman, Margie MacWilliams, Barbara (Frank) Sweet all of of O'Leary, also  by a sister-in-law, Alma Rix, of West Point. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Pam Oliver, in 2017, and by his siblings, Arnold, Elwood, Jack, Myron, and Alton.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Friday afternoon from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel, for funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Robert Lockhart officiating. Interment to take place in the Miminegash United Church Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy memorials in Ellis' memory made be made to the Miminegash United Church Cemetery Fund, or to the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, would be gratefully appreciated.
